Big Deer board

Please congratulate this year’s winners of the big deer contest.

In fourth place is Hayden Moritz. He woke up early Saturday morning to a great deal of nothing, going in for lunch. Afterwards, coming out to much better results, after about twenty minutes the buck meandered over to Hayden’s stand. Walking broadside it was a perfect shoot outside of the trees constantly blocking the vitals. Waiting for ten to fifteen minutes a shot finally opened up – running only about 39 yards.

Third place belongs to Jai Hasse. Opening morning was hectic, by seven numerous does and small “spikes” crossed her stand; at 7:15 her cousin shot and later found out got a buck. Waiting for something to spook after the shot. Soon patience paid off as a buck trailing some does saunters down getting within 85 yards – asking her dad to make sure it was good Jai made the shot once he stood broadside.

First and second place were very close with only one inch separating them; Delaney Mensing won second place with a dandy 160 buck.

She sat alone for not long. Only a few hours went by in the morning and went quickly as multiple deer constantly gathered around the stand. Then at 7:22 he came close – about 100 yards – and she shot.

The top winner of this year’s Big Deer Board is Cole Quilling, shooting a monster 161 Buck.

Cole waited behind his barn calling deer in then shot.
