Juniors Win Homecoming Games

The 2025 Homecoming games began with freshman and seniors going head to head in a game of dodgeball.

The unexpected victory by the freshman was unbelievable to the seniors who put their all in that round but unfortunately did not make it through.

“I felt terrified. I didn’t perform well to my standards. I got out right away. I didn’t even throw a ball back and I jumped like six inches off the ground but it’s okay,” replied senior Max Branch.

The students began a new game called “Fast and Furious” where they kicked off with high energy all around.

All grades went against each other at the same time to see who would win this round.

Building the passion to win more and more, they announced the winner of this game: juniors. Their win caused everyone to explode with excitement.

Lastly, the games assembly ended with a Movie Trivia game. All participants were given a quote from a movie, and they had to guess where it came from. After each question, one participant from each group played golf to score a point for their team.

The crowds roared with excitement. Savannah, a senior, led her team to victory. All grades except the seniors were devastated but enjoyed the moment of the fun Savannah was having.

Even though Trevor Roberts is a junior, he said, “My highlight was Savannah hitting the putt. It didn’t matter if she was a senior.”

Seniors and sophomores played another game of dodgeball to finalize their placement due to being tied.

Jacob Rue, senior, was left in the game. He caught the ball and broke the tie. The seniors ran down from the bleachers cheering with Jacob.

We asked two students from each grade, “How do you feel about your overall placement in the homecoming games?”

“I thought we did really good in the games. I’m glad we got second place because we usually don’t get second place in the games. I feel proud of us because we actually didn’t get last this time and we beat the freshman and sophomore classes,” said Max Branch.

“I feel like usually we kind of struggle to put a full assembly together for games, so with how we did and everything else, I think a second place finish in the games was pretty good to kind of wrap everything up,” said Bryce Shepard.

“Even though we freshmen placed fourth, I am super proud because we beat the Juniors and Seniors in dodgeball. I also feel like our class was brought closer together by our spirit cheering for everyone,” said Emma Lorenzen.

“As a grade I think we are all just happy we didn’t get last. The competition was tough and we all did our best while having fun so that’s all that really matters at the end of the day,” said Nora Pejsa

At the end of the assembly, everyone was happy with what they received because it reflected their actions towards the games. Seniors wished to get first place, but all they wanted to do was beat the freshmen who the seniors lost to last year.
