Political Division: Republicans Vs. Democrats

The Division between Republicans and Democrats in the United States is a complex and deeply rooted aspect of American political life. The Division is characterized by differing ideologies, policy properties, and cultural values, which often lead to significant political polarization.

In the past Republicans and Democrats have never really gotten along, but when heartbreaking events happen we always come together as a nation. Here, now in 2025 the world isn’t the same anymore. The division has gotten so bad that on September 10th, 2025 Charlie Kirk, an American right-wing political activist, entrepreneur, and media personnel was shot and killed at Utah Valley University while addressing an audience on campus.

Just a few days later there were videos of campus students and adults mocking Kirk’s death and stating online that they were happy he died, all because he was a Republican. Famous late night show host Jimmy Kimmel stated on his show, “The maga gang was desperately trying to characterise this kid who murdered Charlie Kirk as anything other than one of them and trying to score political points from it.”

Later after Jimmy Kimmel said this on his show he was suspended.

A teacher at Menomonie stated, “Anyone being murdered is a terrible thing and is not something to be mocked. People should always be kind to each other in disagreements, but it doesn’t seem like people want to act that way anymore.”

Political parties need to stop resorting to violence and focus on finding common ground for the good of the country. When disagreements turn into hostility or physical conflict, it only deepens divisions and makes it harder to solve important issues. Instead leaders and citizens should prioritize respectful dialogue, listen to different perspectives, and work together to create solutions that benefit not one party but both. Coming together does not mean giving up beliefs, but means recognizing that cooperation and understanding are essential for a healthy democracy and a peaceful society.
