This Year’s MHS Homecoming Court is All Smiles

MHS Homecoming Court Decided

  A rich Menomonie High School tradition continues as the 25’-26’ senior class elects 10 candidates to this year’s Homecoming Court. Five Senior Boys and Five Senior Girls have an opportunity to take home a crown or tiara. The Senior class votes Thursday-Friday till’ 3:15 Pm to crown Menomonie’s royalty. The final choice for a king and queen of the senior class will be announced on Friday afternoon during the coronation ceremony. 

 

The Coronation ceremony will be held in the Menomonie High School Gymnasium on 09-26-25, Starting at 2:30 PM. This event is watched by MHS students and open to the public. Student council executives, the Superintendent, the Principal, and the activities director of MHS all speak.  The ceremony also recognizes the 2025 Grand Marshall,  coaches and captains for fall sports, and recap’s Homecoming festivities. 

 

Let’s meet this year’s Homecoming Court with some insight into their personality and involvement that led to their peers’ vote.  The well respected court was asked a few questions to get to know them.

Tehya Johnson

 

Extracurriculars: Tennis (captain), student council (student body president), concert chorus (secretary), GEAC, NHS, forensics, newspaper/mustang messenger, spanish club, theater (in school and in the community)

Favorite school spirit event: My favorite school traditions are homecoming week and cabin fever week

A fun fact most wouldn’t know about them: I did my first play when I was 3 years old. Another fact is that every summer I go on a fishing trip in remote Canada where I have to eat fish for 3 meals a day on islands/rocks.

What song would play when they walk into a room: “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina & the Waves.

 


 

Paula Flores

 

Extracurriculars: I am a varsity soccer and tennis player, I’m in GEAC, FBLA, NHS, spanish club, and yearbook.

Favorite school spirit event:  My favorite school traditions are homecoming week and cabin fever week.

A fun fact most wouldn’t know about them: Something most people don’t know about me is that I am left handed and right footed when I play soccer.

What song would play when they walk into a room: “Amber” by 311.

 


 

Kyah Barnhart

 

Extracurriculars: I am in cross country, track & field and 4-h.

Favorite school spirit event: My favorite school traditions are cross country, team gathering’s, and being a part of student sections at sporting events.

A fun fact most wouldn’t know about them: Something that most people don’t know about me is that I live on a farm and raise sheep.

What song would play when they walk into a room: “Walking on Sunshine” by Katrina & the Waves.

 


Aubrie Schlueter

 

Extracurriculars: cross country, soccer, wrestling manager, student council, DECA, FCCLA, link crew, yearbook.

Favorite school spirit event: Helping out with all aspects of homecoming!

A fun fact most wouldn’t know about them: I never say “night” because it sounds mean, so I always say “goodnight”.

What song would play when they walk into a room: “She’s always a woman to me” by Billy Joel.

 

 


Sara Palmer 

 

Extracurriculars: I’m in cross country, track, choir, theater, and student council.

Favorite school spirit event: Filming the skit for Hoco is my favorite school spirit thing.

A fun fact most wouldn’t know about them: Most people don’t know I’ve been to 21 national parks.

What song would play when they walk into a room: “Fergalicious” is my walk out song.

 

 


 

Bryce Shepard

 

Extracurriculars: football (two-time team captain), wrestling(two-time team captain), track and field, student council, yearbook, mustang messenger, NHS, middle school & youth wrestling coach, GEAC ,and Flag football/ Little Punters Enthusiast

Favorite school spirit event: Cabin fever games during study hall

A fun fact most wouldn’t know about them: I really like sci-fi/Fantasy movies and books Ex: Harry Potter, Star Wars, Marvel, DC Comics, L.o.t.R, The Hobbit, Percy Jackson
