Menomonie took on New Richmond in the first round of the WIAA Division 1 Volleyball Playoffs on October 24th. The Tigers eliminated the Mustangs from the playoffs in 3 sets: (19-25, 12-25, 19-25)
Menomine is losing 4 seniors this season: Callie Travis, Karlee Deutsch, Emma Scheuffele, and Ciera Dugan.
Callie Travis #14 was one of three captains this season. Callie was an outside hitter for Menomonie, but also played a little right side. Callie played in 20 sets this season, earning 19 kills, 10 total blocks, 10 digs, and 31 receptions. “Although we did not have the best record, I will miss the bonds I made with the entire team. It truly felt like family, and I am so thankful for the girls I got to spend my senior season with,” said Callie Travis as her senior year of volleyball came to an end. Callie’s favorite memory from her 4 years in the program was all the dance parties at practices, the team meals, and football watch parties.
Karlee Deutsch #4 was a defensive specialist for the Mustangs and played in 10 sets this season, earning 16 digs and 37 receptions. Karlee’s favorite volleyball memory is traveling with all the teams she’s been on, to cool places, the hotel stays, and the team bonding experiences.
Emma Scheuffele #3 was a defensive specialist for Menomonie. She was entered in a set vs. Chippewa, earning 2 digs and 5 receptions. Emma’s favorite volleyball memory is meeting new people through school and club volleyball, as well as the fun team bonding experiences.
Ciera Dugan #8 is a right side for the Mustangs and played in 2 sets. Ciera’s favorite memory was the bus rides back home after games.
