
The Menomonie Mustangs’ boys soccer team faces Wausau East at 7:00 PM on October 21st, 2025 in the first round of the WIAA Division II Playoffs.
The Mustangs are seeded 7th in the WIAA Division II Playoffs. The match is to be played at Wausau East High School. The Wausau East Lumberjacks finished the season with a record of 9-5-4. Their Conference record is 3-4-3, being 4th in the Wisconsin Valley Conference.
“This year, the boys soccer team has a real chance to make history,” said Varsity Coach Laura Gleason. “If they come together, play smart, simple soccer, and stay focused on a shared goal, there’s no limit to how far they can go in the playoffs.”

The Mustangs’ boys soccer team finished their regular season with a record of 5-15-3. The Mustangs tied for 7th, but finished 8th in the Big Rivers Conference due to goal differential, with a conference record of 2-7-1.
In the conference run, the Mustangs defeated River Falls and Eau Claire North. They lost to Hudson, Eau Claire Memorial, Chippewa Falls, Rice Lake and New Richmond. When the Mustangs rematched River Falls towards the end of the season, they fell short. The Mustangs also rematched Eau Claire North, resulting in a draw.
