Thanksgiving is one of the oldest holidays, dating back to the 1700s. Considering how long it has been around, it’s always been known as the holiday for being with family. But what really brings families together during this holiday season?
The most common answer people would probably say is being thankful for each other and spending every minute with people you haven’t seen in a long time. But others might find it as watching football with your family, playing all sorts of games, hunting, and other things.
Thanksgiving is the time you can spend every minute with your family as much as possible, especially for the ones you haven’t seen in maybe months or even years. The enjoyment of being able to sit down with family and enjoy an amazing meal by the host of the night, and doing other family traditions, is such a delight.
“My family more often than not will travel! We’ve gone to Missouri and Florida for locations in the past. It’s always a super fun time because we love getting to try different restaurants each Thanksgiving, because every one is different and unique.”

The different types of foods that are served at Thanksgiving are a long list, but nothing beats the classics like Turkey, Ham, Stuffing, Green beans, Cranberry Sauce, Mashed Potatoes, and Pumpkin Pie. However, families can come up with their own meals and not stick with the classics. It encourages people to get creative with what they love to eat and what others might enjoy for an amazing holiday meal.
Watching football on Thanksgiving is also an instant classic. Whether it be college football or the NFL, families will go all out on Thanksgiving just to watch their favorite team win. With football being such a big thing in the US, it is very common for people to watch during the holidays. Having discussions with friends or family about football can either be really, really fun or it could get really competitive.
In the end, with all these different activities that happen on Thanksgiving, they all loop back around to the most important thing about the holiday. Having the family all together. Being together with your family is the most important thing you can have in your life. It’s always important to be around your family whenever you can and make sure you enjoy every moment of it.
