On Thursday, December 11th at 7 pm The Mustangs will take on The Warriors at Fannetti Ice Center.
Both teams are under .500 and are looking to turn that around during this upcoming game. Both teams will first play a game this Tuesday where Menomonie will face R.A.M in Altoona and The Warriors face Amery at home.
The Mustangs VS. The Warriors will be a gritty BRC matchup as both teams are looking to fight back up the rankings. Senior Defenseman Ryan Xu says, “We are the better team but no doubt they will come to fight, but with the home environment, the game should lean our way.”
Menomonie’s season is off to a rough start but can be turned around fast. So far they have beat the Northwest (Barron) Icemen 10-2 and lost to the River Falls Wildcats 4-7 as well as the Hudson Raiders 1-9.
Rice Lake is also on a slow start; they have faced 2 losses in their 2 games losing against The New Richmond Tigers 0-4 and the Eau Claire North Huskies 0-3.
Menomonie has a high scoring Sophomore forward Brekkin Cody who has put up an outstanding 9 points in 3 games and currently sits top 5 in the BRC. Brekkin Cody and the other Menomonie skaters will take shots at Rice Lake’s stout goal goaltender Hayden Van Gilder who has put up a whopping .932 save percentage so far.
Get out to the Fannetti Ice Area on Thursday, December 11th with a puck dropping at 7 pm to watch the Menomonie Mustangs take on the Rice Lake Warriors.
