Menomonie Dance Team hosted the 20th annual Holiday Classic Competition on December 6th, 2025. There were 33 teams in attendance with about 600 dancers ranging from elementary to college.

Menomonie had seven dancers compete in the D2 solo division of the competition. Alayna Pritchard, Marci Braatz, and Kenna Marsolek were recognized as finalists, meaning they placed in the top half of the total solos entered into the competition. Kenna’s routine placed 3rd overall as well as being recognized as a finalist. Each of their routines was unique in their own way. All were suited to each dancer’s specific skillset, showing off some of their most difficult skills. 

Menomonie’s competition is not split by division like most; it is divided into two categories: large and small varsity. This changes who the teams compete against. For all other competitions, Menomonie varsity is in D2 for hip hop and kick and D3 for pom. They are not usually against teams like Hudson and Eau Claire North because they land in the D1 category; however, it is different for Holiday and they compete against all teams that can be classified as large varsity. Small varsity consists of teams in pom divisions D4-D6, while large is pom divisions D1-D3.

Both Menomonie teams performed really well for their first competition of the season. Unfortunately, varsity did not place in the top half of their routines. They placed 4th in pom and 5th in hip hop. JV had three competitors for pom: Hudson, Eau Claire North, and Pepin Alma. Within those, they placed 3rd overall for pom and 1st in hip hop.

Varsity will travel to Little Chute this coming weekend on December 13th, where they will compete in D2 hip hop and D3 pom. JV will travel to UWEC to take part in the Fired Up Competition on the same day.
