On October 2nd, 2025, the Menomonie Boys Soccer team beat the River Falls Wildcats in a conference match, ending with a score of 1-0. 

Freshman Goalkeeper, Aidan Kroening, shut out the match, earning a clean sheet with 17 saves. In the 55th minute of the match, the Mustangs’ gave away a penalty kick, in which Aidan Kroening saved, giving the Mustangs’ the momentum.

The Mustangs’ lone goal was scored by Senior Ryan Xu, who capitalized on a Wildcats mistake in the 75th minute. Wildcats defender #20 floated a ball across their own goal, which Ryan was able to capitalize on, heading the ball into the goal.

“The goal felt awesome because it was towards the end of the game. It felt nice to score on their senior night and take home a win,” said Ryan Xu.

Concluding the match, the Mustangs’ have a 2-5 conference record, with an overall record of 4-10-2.
